Meet Our Founder
Souleymane Mori – Founder & President
Souleymane Mori, Founder and President of Zaouren Zoumuntchi, was born and raised in the Republic of Niger. He spent much of his adult life in the United States, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Rutgers University.
At the age of two, Mr. Mori contracted polio, which permanently affected his right leg. Since then, he has walked with crutches, facing life's challenges with determination, resilience, and hope.
Growing up in one of the world's poorest countries, Mr. Mori experienced hardship from an early age. After losing his mother at the age of ten and growing up without the support of his father, he realized that education was his only path to a better future. Without it, he believed he could have been left with little opportunity beyond a life of poverty.
His personal journey inspired a lifelong mission to give back. Through Zaouren Zoumuntchi, Mr. Mori is committed to creating opportunities for vulnerable children—especially children with disabilities—to access quality education, essential support, and the chance to build brighter, more independent futures. His vision is rooted in the belief that every child, regardless of disability or circumstance, deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope.
Our Story
Zaouren Zoumuntchi is a registered nonprofit organization founded in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, with an office in the Republic of Niger. Our mission is to empower vulnerable children—especially children with disabilities—through inclusive education, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable community development.
Inspired by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, we work to remove the barriers that prevent children from accessing education, essential resources, and opportunities for a brighter future. Through school construction, scholarships, educational support, humanitarian aid, and community partnerships, we create lasting change where it is needed most.
Everything we do is guided by compassion, dignity, inclusion, and the belief that no child should be left behind because of disability, poverty, or circumstance.

Through strong partnerships, we strive to expand access to inclusive education and essential support services for children who need them most.
As part of this commitment, Founder and President Souleymane Mori met with Dr. Elisabeth Sherif, Minister of Education of the Republic of Niger, to discuss strengthening educational opportunities and promoting inclusive learning for vulnerable children, including children with disabilities.
This meeting reflects our shared vision of ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or physical ability, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential.
